Why Water Is
The Secret Weight Loss Miracle

by: Gregg Hall
The weight loss battle is one that is fought
by many all over the world and is easily one of the toughest fights you will
ever have. Time after time the weight is lost and put back on in a matter of
months and to make matters worse, many times you end up weighing more than you
did when you began your weight loss program. Because of this many people will
look for any tips or advice they can find to help them win the battle of the
bulge. While there is a lot of advice available, one of the best tips at all is
to include adequate water intake as a regular part of your diet plan.
Did you know that just plain water speeds up your metabolism? This is just one
of the many reasons that water is so crucial to a successful diet. Let me
explain why. The liver has the ability to convert the fat it has stored into
energy that your body can burn off, but it cannot function properly without
enough water. The liver is responsible for a great deal of processes in the body
including taking care of the kidneys if they aren't functioning properly.
Well, guess what? The kidneys cannot do their job without water and therefore if
you are not drinking enough water you are forcing your liver to work harder in
order to take care of the kidneys. If this is happening, the majority of its
focus is here and not on converting fat to energy which results in no weight
loss and possibly may even lead to weight gain.
Water intake is also a good way of helping to curb your appetite between meals
and also help you to eat smaller portions. If you keep your stomach full of
water all day long it helps to trick your body into believing that it is full of
food so the hunger mechanism is harder for the brain to detect. If you drink a
couple of glasses of water before a meal you won't feel like stuffing yourself.
I know that many people think that if they restrict water intake it will help
them lose water weight nut in fact the opposite is true. Your body goes into
survival mode and will retain all the water it can if you don't give it enough,
therefore it is vital that your water intake be sufficient.
Now that I have sold you on the idea that you need water to lose weight you are
probably wondering how much you should take in. For most adults you need to
consume 64 ounces a day, or a gallon. The easiest way I have found to do this
and be sure you are getting enough is to fill a gallon jug with water every
morning and drink from it throughout the day making sire that you finish it off
before you go to bed. Try to keep it cold as this also aids in burning more
calories. Water is truly a weight loss miracle, try it and you will see for
yourself.
